To inspire my practice more, I decided to visit the first cut exhibition at the Sea City museum in Southampton. There were a couple of artists I had been researching into for my dissertation such as Andy Singleton and Andrea Deszo, that were exhibiting their work. It was really great seeing the paper art in an installation piece and how they create a presence. I was mostly drawn to the pieces that formed beautiful shadows, such as Andy Singleton's work. The exhibition made me think about how i'd like to present my work in the final submission. Being an illustration degree, the curriculum requires me to submit digital or printed flat images. This means I have to be clever with photography, to capture the 3D object and the shadow it makes.

'Going West' was in the exhibition. Their films demonstrate how paper illustration can come to life in stop motion animations. They concentrate on bringing books to life, by using the a book copy of the chosen text as a material source.
